It increases state workload starting in FY 2022-23. Appropriation Summary: No appropriation is required. Fiscal Note Status: The fiscal note reflects the introduced bill. Summary of Legislation The bill replaces the term “name-based criminal history record check” with “name-based judicial record check” in statute. State Expenditures The bill may increase workload in the Judicial Department and the Department of Public Safety to respond to questions regarding the new terminology starting in FY 2022-23. The fiscal note assumes this workload can be accomplished within existing appropriations. Effective Date The bill takes effect upon signature of the Governor, or upon becoming law without his signature.
