The bill replaces the term “criminal history” with “judicial” regarding name-based record 
checks in statue.  It increases state workload starting in FY 2022-23.

The fiscal note reflects the enacted bill. 
Summary of Legislation 
The bill replaces the term “name-based criminal history record check” with “name-based judicial 
record check” in statute. 
State Expenditures 
The bill may increase workload in the Judicial Department and the Department of Public Safety to 
respond to questions regarding the new terminology starting in FY 2022-23.  The fiscal note assumes 
this workload can be accomplished within existing appropriations.   
Effective Date 
This bill was signed into law by the Governor and took effect on April 21, 2022.
