Summary of  
Fiscal Impact: 
No fiscal impact.  The bill aligns state statute with federal law regarding certain areas 
of Medicaid eligibility.  It has no impact on state or local revenue or expenditures.

Status: 
The final fiscal note reflects the enacted bill. 
Summary of Legislation 
This bill aligns state income eligibility requirements with federal law for children and pregnant 
women under the Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) and Medicaid programs.  
Assessment of No Fiscal Impact 
The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing currently determines eligibility for CHP+ and 
Medicaid based on federal eligibility requirements; therefore, no increase in state expenditures is 
required and the bill has no fiscal impact. 
Effective Date 
The bill was signed into law by the Governor and took effect March 24, 2022.
