It minimally decreases state workload beginning in FY 2024-25. Appropriation Summary: No appropriation is required. Fiscal Note Status: The final fiscal note reflects the enacted bill. Summary of Legislation Under current law, each state agency and each state institution of higher education must annually submit a list of all nondeveloped real property to the Capital Development Committee. The committee and the Department of Local Affairs must provide access to the list on their websites. The bill repeals these requirements. Similar information is captured in an inventory of unused state-owned property maintained by the Office of the State Architect. State Expenditures The bill minimally decreases workload for state entities that no long have to submit updates to the legislature, and for legislative staff and the Department of Local Affairs that no longer have to maintain the lists online. No change in appropriations is required. Effective Date The bill was signed into law by the Governor on April 19, 2024, and takes effect on August 7, 2024, assuming no referendum petition is filed.
