In Colorado Revised Statutes, amend 24-12-103 as2 follows:3 24-12-103. Who may administer oaths or affirmations. (1) All4 courts in this state and each judge, justice, magistrate, referee, clerk, and5 deputy clerk; thereof; court reporters who hold the registered professional6 reporter, CERTIFIED VERBATIM REPORTER , OR CERTIFIED VERBATIM7 REPORTER - STENOTYPE certification or higher; members and referees of8 the division of labor standards and statistics; members of the public9 utilities commission; and notaries public have power to administer oaths10 or affirmations to witnesses and others concerning any A matter, thing,11 process, or proceeding pending, commenced, or to be commenced before12 them. respectively.13 (2) The courts, judges, magistrates, referees, clerks, and deputy14 clerks within their respective districts or counties; court reporters who15 hold the registered professional reporter, CERTIFIED VERBATIM REPORTER,16 OR CERTIFIED VERBATIM REPORTER - STENOTYPE certification or higher;17 a person designated by the governing body, or any AN officer thereof OF18 THE BODY; and notaries public within any A county of this state have the19 power to administer all oaths or affirmations of office and other oaths or20 affirmations required to be taken by any A person upon any A lawful21 occasion and to take affidavits and depositions concerning any A matter22 or thing, process, or proceeding pending, commenced, or to be23 commenced in any A court or on any AN occasion an affidavit or a24 deposition is authorized or by law required to be taken.25 SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly finds,26 determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate27 1301 -2- preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for1 the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state2 institutions.3 1301 -3-
