Summary of Legislation
The Capitol Building Advisory Committee (CBAC) makes recommendations on art and
development in the Capitol Complex. The bill adds public areas of the Capitol Building Annex
and Legislative Services Building, and their surrounding grounds, to the committee’s purview.
The bill also allows removal of additional original items, with the approval of CBAC, from the
Capitol if used for exhibits, research, or on a loan.
State Expenditures
The bill expands CBAC’s purview and possibly increases the number capitol item request CBAC
receives. This may minimally increase workload in the Legislative Department. No change in
appropriations is required.
Effective Date
The bill takes effect 90 days following adjournment of the General Assembly sine die, assuming
no referendum petition is filed.
