WHEREAS, Colorado is home to a vibrant Iranian-American1 community that enriches the cultural fabric of our state through2 contributions in academia, business, the arts, and public service; and3 WHEREAS, The Woman, Life, Freedom movement rooted in Iran4 represents the aspiration for a society that honors human rights,5 particularly women's and children's rights, gender equity, and economic6 justice; and7 WHEREAS, Recognizing Nowruz fosters inclusivity and affirms8 Colorado's commitment to celebrating the diverse cultural traditions of its9 residents; now, therefore,10 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly11 of the State of Colorado:12 That the Colorado General Assembly honors the celebration of13 Nowruz, extends best wishes to all those observing this joyous occasion,14 and recognizes the contributions of the Iranian-American community to15 the state of Colorado.16 Be It Further Resolved, That this resolution be sent to17 Iranian-American organizations, community leaders, and cultural18 institutions in recognition of Nowruz and its significance.19 013 -2-
