AN ACT REQUIRING CONTINUAL 9-1-1 SERVICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2010) Any telephone company or certified telecommunications provider terminating telecommunications service for nonpayment shall continue to provide access to emergency services.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure that customers whose telephone service is terminated for nonpayment still have access to emergency services.
