AN ACT CONCERNING PURCHASING OF PROPANE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2010) Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes, no propane gas customer shall be required to purchase propane from the owner of a rented or leased propane gas tank, provided the owner of the propane tank shall continue to receive any rental or lease fees due to the owner of the propane gas tank. The Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, to carry out the provisions of this section.

To provide tenants a choice when purchasing propane.
