AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO DISPLAY PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION BADGES DURING WORKING HOURS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 368v of the general statutes be amended to require a health care provider who (1) is employed by or acting on behalf of a health care facility or institution, and (2) provides direct patient care to wear a photographic identification badge in plain view during working hours.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow patients to quickly identify those health care providers who are involved in their direct care.
