AN ACT CONCERNING VOTES FOR STATE TAX INCREASES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require an affirmative vote by a two-thirds majority in both houses of the General Assembly to pass any state tax increase.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require state tax increases to have the support of at least two-thirds of the General Assembly.
