AN ACT CONCERNING ALTERNATIVE SITES FOR ELECTRIC AND TELECOMMUNICATION FACILITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the Siting Council to compare an applicant's proposed site for an electric distribution or telecommunications facility to alternate sites proposed by the municipality by evaluating the environmental impact, impact on the local viewshed and overall functionality of each proposed site, and (2) provide that such council shall accept the municipality's proposed alternate site unless the council finds that such site is substantially inferior to the site proposed by the applicant.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the acceptance of certain alternative sites for electric distribution and telecommunications facilities when such sites are proposed by municipalities.
