AN ACT CONCERNING THE INCLUSION OF COURSEWORK RELATING TO INTERNET SAFETY IN THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 10-16b of the general statutes be amended to permit local and regional boards of education to include in the curriculum materials for grades six to eight, inclusive, coursework regarding Internet safety and the dangers and risks associated with posting personal information online.

Statement of Purpose: 

To help make students aware of the potential dangers and risks of putting personal information online and in social media communications.
