AN ACT CONCERNING UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION AND INDEXING THE EMPLOYER'S CHARGED TAX RATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 31-225a of the general statutes be amended to index an employer's charged tax rate to the number of employees laid off rather than increasing the rate solely on the basis they have laid off a single employee.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide unemployment tax relief to employers and create a less hostile business environment.
