AN ACT CONCERNING PROMPT REPORTING OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT IN AN EDUCATIONAL SETTING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 17a-101b of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Children and Families to conduct an investigation when a mandated reporter who is a school employee fails to make a timely report of suspected child abuse or neglect.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure the Department of Children and Families responds to a delay in reporting of suspected child abuse or neglect that occurs in an educational setting.
