AN ACT CONCERNING NOTICE BY THE COMMISSIONER OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION CONCERNING ALLEGATIONS OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT BY A SCHOOL EMPLOYEE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 17a-101i of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Children and Families to notify both the State Department of Education and the employing school superintendent when the commissioner has reasonable cause to believe that a child has been neglected or abused by a certified school employee. Statement of Purpose: To require the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to notify the State Department of Education when DCF substantiates an allegation that a certified school employee has abused or neglected a child.
