AN ACT CONCERNING PREKINDERGARTEN TUITION COSTS AT INTERDISTRICT MAGNET SCHOOLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 172 of the general statutes be amended to require only those school districts that pay for the cost of prekindergarten tuition to pay for the cost of prekindergarten tuition at interdistrict magnet schools, and for those school districts that do not pay for the cost of prekindergarten tuition to permit such districts to charge the parents of students attending a prekindergarten program at an interdistrict magnet school for the cost of such prekindergarten tuition.
Statement of Purpose:
To relieve the fiscal burden associated with prekindergarten program costs on towns that do not generally pay for such prekindergarten programs.
