AN ACT ESTABLISHING RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR MUNICIPAL WORKERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to allow municipalities to require, by ordinance and collective bargaining, that future employees reside within the municipality for which they work.

Statement of Purpose: 

To help maintain a core middle class in each municipality and to foster more meaningful service.
