AN ACT CONCERNING THE PRIVATIZATION OF CERTAIN STATE SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require: (1) The Department of Children and Families to enter into contracts with private entities to manage and provide services at the Connecticut Children's Place, the Connecticut Juvenile Training School and Riverview Hospital for Children and Youth; (2) the Department of Developmental Services to enter into contracts with private entities to manage and provide services for community living arrangements, supported living and day programs; and (3) the Department of Environmental Protection to enter into contracts with the Connecticut Forest and Park Association to maintain state parks, forests and boat launches.
Statement of Purpose:
To streamline state government by restructuring programs and facilities that will provide eligible beneficiaries with critical state services while maintaining efficiency.
