AN ACT CONCERNING THE MEDICAL USE OF MARIJUANA.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to (1) permit a patient who suffers from a debilitating medical condition such as cancer, acquired immune deficiency syndrome or multiple sclerosis to possess marijuana for medical use in accordance with a physician's prescription, (2) permit a physician to prescribe marijuana for medical use, and (3) establish a procedure for licensing alternative treatment centers where patients can safely and legally obtain prescribed marijuana.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow state residents with certain debilitating medical conditions to possess and use marijuana for medical purposes in accordance with a physician's prescription, and license alternative treatment centers where patients can obtain prescribed marijuana.
