AN ACT CONCERNING SUFFICIENT NUMBERS OF BALLOTS AT POLLING PLACES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 147 of the general statutes be amended to require a set number of ballots based upon a percentage of voters registered to vote at a polling place be printed and available at each polling place for the gubernatorial and presidential year elections and for special elections and primaries, as determined by the Secretary of the State, registrars of voters and town clerks for those given election years, and that chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to provide funding for the state to bulk purchase such ballots with some funding from the Citizens' Election Fund. Statement of Purpose: To require the proper amount of ballots to be printed during elections held in gubernatorial and presidential year elections and special elections and primaries, as determined by the Secretary of the State along with the registrars of voters and town clerks, and to require the state to purchase in bulk those ballots with some funding from the Citizens' Election Fund, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to cast their vote.
