AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION TO WAIVE INSURANCE AND SURETY BOND REQUIREMENTS FOR PERSONS WORKING IN A STATE HIGHWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) The Commissioner of Transportation may waive insurance and surety bond requirements for persons working in a state highway right-of-way if the commissioner determines that such requirements are not necessary.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the Commissioner of Transportation to waive insurance and surety bond requirements for persons working in a state highway right-of-way.
