AN ACT PROVIDING MUNICIPALITIES WITH ACCESS TO DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS FOR TAXATION PURPOSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide all municipalities in the state with access to Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) records in order to shift the burden from DMV to municipalities to prove the residency situ of motor vehicles, for the purposes of grand list determination.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow towns to have access to DMV records for taxation purposes.
