AN ACT CONCERNING THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY FOR THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN LIVERY SERVICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Department of Transportation shall determine the number of certificates of public convenience and necessity issued by the department for the operation of livery services and the number of motor vehicles authorized to provide such livery service under all such permits. The department shall review the demand for livery services in order to determine if sufficient certificates of public convenience and necessity have been issued to meet such demand, and shall report its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters related to livery services, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-3a of the general statutes, not later than January 11, 2012.
