AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TRADITIONAL CONNECTICUT LICENSE PLATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 14 of the general statutes, concerning motor vehicles, be amended to provide motor vehicle owners with the option of purchasing a set of traditional Connecticut license plates, instead of standard license plates, for their vehicles; that owners would pay a surcharge for such traditional plates, and that such surcharge would be used for the preservation of historic transportation infrastructure.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide motor vehicle owners with the option of purchasing traditional Connecticut license plates and to raise funds for the preservation of historic transportation infrastructure.
