General Assembly Proposed Bill No. 6208 January Session, 2011 LCO No. 2092 Referred to Committee on Transportation Introduced by: REP. AYALA, 128th Dist. General Assembly Proposed Bill No. 6208 January Session, 2011 LCO No. 2092 Referred to Committee on Transportation Introduced by: REP. AYALA, 128th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE ISSUANCE OF OPERATOR'S LICENSES TO PERSONS WHO WEAR SPECTACLES WITH BIOPTIC LENSES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to authorize the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue operator's licenses to persons who wear spectacles with bioptic lenses. Statement of Purpose: The Department of Motor Vehicles is not authorized to issue operator's licenses to persons who use bioptic lenses. With the increase in technology the bioptics are currently built into the lens itself. The advances have increased the field of vision for drivers. Many other states have gone back to readdress licensure of individuals who use bioptics.
