General Assembly Proposed Bill No. 6209 January Session, 2011 LCO No. 2072 Referred to Committee on Transportation Introduced by: REP. AYALA, 128th Dist. General Assembly Proposed Bill No. 6209 January Session, 2011 LCO No. 2072 Referred to Committee on Transportation Introduced by: REP. AYALA, 128th Dist. AN ACT REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO ISSUE AN "ADULT" LEARNER'S PERMIT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) shall issue an "adult" learner's permit to adults who practice driving, as long as they are with an experienced licensed driver. Statement of Purpose: On some occasions adult unlicensed drivers have been stopped by police and ticketed because they do not have a license to drive. By creating an "adult" learner's permit, the practicing driver will have proof and should not be ticketed. This permit may be used as a revenue enhancer for the state.
