AN ACT REQUIRING PROOF OF OWNERSHIP OF A MORTGAGE NOTE AT FIRST FORECLOSURE MEDIATION SESSION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 49-31n of the general statutes be amended to require a mortgagee participating in the foreclosure mediation program to offer proof at the first mediation session that such mortgagee is the rightful owner of the underlying mortgage note.
Statement of Purpose:
To improve the foreclosure mediation program.
