AN ACT DEFINING ATTORNEY AT LAW FOR PURPOSES OF THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 3-124 of the general statutes be amended to define "attorney at law" as a person acting professionally in legal formalities, negotiations or proceedings by the warrant or authority of such person's clients and who, when undertaking to engage in legal controversies or transactions, professes to be reasonably well acquainted with the law and the rules and practices of the courts and who is bound to act with reasonable care, prudence, diligence and skill. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To define attorney at law for purposes of the statute concerning the qualifications of the Attorney General.
