AN ACT CONCERNING REORGANIZATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Section 2-35a of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage):

The joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to government administration, organization and reorganization shall be charged with the [duty and] responsibility of overseeing all government organization and reorganization and in particular any transfer, allocation or consolidation of any state department or agency. The committee shall have responsibility for continuing review of the organization and reorganization of state departments and agencies and may from time to time make recommendations to the General Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a, with regard to government organization and reorganization.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to government reorganization to report any recommendations concerning reorganization in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes.
