AN ACT ENABLING MUNICIPALITIES TO ESTABLISH A COMMUNITY GREEN FUND.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to enable municipalities to impose a one per cent conveyance fee on purchasers of real estate to establish a community green fund to be used to fund local conservation initiatives, including, but not limited to, brownfield planning and reclamation; alternative energy infrastructure; alternative transportation infrastructure; and historic restoration.

Statement of Purpose: 

To promote conservation initiatives and to create jobs.
