AN ACT CONCERNING THE SALE OF PRECIOUS METALS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2012) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Safety, shall adopt regulations, in accordance with chapter 54 of the general statutes, to develop standards regarding the sale of precious metals, including, but not limited, to jewelry made of gold, silver and platinum. Such regulations shall include, but not be limited to, record keeping and reporting requirements and positive identification of persons selling such precious metals.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
