AN ACT CONCERNING IMPROVED SOCIAL WORKER TO RESIDENT RATIOS IN NURSING HOMES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 368v of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Public Health to amend the Public Health Code in order to improve the social worker to resident ratio in nursing homes.

Statement of Purpose: 

To improve the quality of care in the state's nursing homes by ensuring that such facilities employ social workers at a level that adequately addresses the needs of residents.
