AN ACT CONCERNING RETIREE HEALTH INSURANCE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that any state employee who has less than ten years of state service as of July 1, 2009, not be entitled to receive retiree health insurance benefits unless and until such employee's combination of age and actual state service equals eighty or more and to increase the portion of the premium paid by retired state employees for health insurance by a certain amount for each five years of state service fewer than twenty-five.

Statement of Purpose:

To redefine the "rule of 75" to a "rule of 80" for retiree health insurance and to increase the premium share for health insurance paid by retired state employees for every five years of service below twenty-five.
