Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Section 22a-620 of the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (g) as follows (Effective October 1, 2011): (NEW) (g) On and after October 1, 2011, any person who: (1) Has submitted a plan to the commissioner, pursuant to subsection (a) of this section, for a collection system that reasonably enables the collection of mercury-added products, and (2) sold thermostats in this state prior to July 1, 2006, that have a mercury content that exceeds one hundred milligrams shall include in such person's collection program a five-dollar payment to any member of the public who provides such collection program with a thermostat that was purchased on or before June 30, 2006.
