AN ACT CONCERNING IDENTIFICATION CARDS FOR VETERANS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that the Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs shall issue a photo identification card to any resident of the state who (1) is a veteran of the armed forces, as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes, and (2) is not eligible to receive a Veterans Identification Card from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish a veterans' identification card to enable veterans to more easily receive discounts offered by certain retail establishments and service providers.
