AN ACT CONCERNING THE ENFORCEMENT OF HUNTING, TRAPPING AND FISHING LAWS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 54-56h of the general statutes be amended to authorize a court in the disposition of a case involving the violation of any provision of title 26 of the general statutes to consider the fact that the defendant has made a monetary contribution to a nonprofit organization that provides rewards for persons who report violations of fish and game or wildlife protection laws.

Statement of Purpose: 

To authorize courts and prosecutors in the disposition of a criminal case to consider the fact that a person charged with a fish and game law violation has made a monetary contribution to an organization that offers rewards to persons who turn in poachers or other persons who violate fish and game laws.
