AN ACT CONCERNING PARTICIPATION IN INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETICS AND THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION COMPONENT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-221a of the general statutes be amended to allow students who participate in at least two interscholastic or intramural sports teams per school year to substitute such participation for a physical education class for the school year, and such participation shall count towards satisfying the physical education requirement.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow students who participate in school athletics to count such participation towards the physical education requirement for graduation.
