AN ACT CONCERNING ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Public Utility Control to develop a program to provide assistance to electric and gas ratepayers who earn less than sixty per cent of the state's median income.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide low-income residents with energy assistance programs.
