AN ACT CONCERNING EMERGENCY ALERTS CONCERNING ABDUCTED OR MISSING CHILDREN.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to specify the conditions when a law enforcement agency disseminates an emergency alert and information concerning the abduction of a child and to authorize an alert when a child under seventeen years of age is reported to have run away from home.

Statement of Purpose: 

To clarify when an Amber alert may be given and allow such an alert in cases where a child has run away from home.
