AN ACT AUTHORIZING STATE BONDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CATWALK OVER THE RAIL LINE SEPARATING THE COLUMBUS CIRCLE AREA FROM MCAULIFFE PARK IN EAST HARTFORD.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate two hundred thirty thousand dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the Department of Transportation for the purpose of providing a grant-in-aid to East Hartford for the construction of a catwalk over the railroad tracks separating the Columbus Circle area from McAuliffe Park.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reestablish the safe connection between the McAuliffe Park area and the densely populated low-income area of Columbus Circle and Park Street in East Hartford.
