AN ACT TO UPDATE AND IMPROVE THE RECORDING OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS BASED ON FAIRNESS, EFFICIENCY AND PRIVACY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 52-570d of the general statutes be amended to permit a party to record a telephonic communication efficiently and on an equal basis consistent with other jurisdictions' laws; and to effect additional exceptions and definitions pursuant to said section 52-570d.

Statement of Purpose: 

To permit a party to record a telephonic communication consistent with the principles of efficiency and fairness while taking into account advances in technology while preserving the right to privacy.
