Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Section 7-89 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2011): Constables shall have the power in [their towns] the judicial districts in which they reside to serve and execute all lawful process legally directed to them and shall be liable for any neglect or unfaithfulness in their office.
