AN ACT PROVIDING FUNDS FOR EVENING BUS SERVICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2011) For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012, the Department of Transportation shall provide funds, within available appropriations but not in excess of $764,000, to a municipality with a population of one hundred thousand or more and an unemployment rate of eleven and one-half per cent or more, for evening bus service. Such bus service shall operate from Monday to Saturday, inclusive, from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., and shall include paratransit services for persons with disabilities.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To provide funding for evening bus service in order to enhance access to educational, job training and employment opportunities, and promote economic development.
