AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF PROPANE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2011) The Department of Public Utility Control shall establish procedures to regulate the state's propane industry. On or before February 1, 2012, the department shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public utilities regarding such procedures and any needed legislative changes to facilitate such regulation. Such regulation shall be effective on and after July 1, 2012.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Department of Public Utility Control to establish procedures for regulating the state's propane industry as of July 1, 2012.
