Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Whenever the federal government notifies an agency head that sanctions or fines or both are likely to be imposed, or have been imposed, against any program under the jurisdiction of such agency head, the agency head shall report in writing, not later than five days after receipt of such notification, to: (1) The president pro tempore of the Senate, (2) the speaker of the House of Representatives, (3) the majority leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives, (4) the minority leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives, (5) the chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies, and (6) the chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to such program. Such report shall include, but not be limited to, a description of the circumstances that resulted in such sanction or fine or both and shall set forth the course of action the agency head proposes to mitigate or to eliminate such circumstances. Sec. 2. Section 17b-14 of the general statutes is repealed.
