AN ACT EXPANDING THE RESIDENTIAL HEATING EQUIPMENT FINANCING PROGRAM TO CUSTOMERS OF MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to expand the residential heating equipment financing program established by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to allow residential customers of municipal electric utilities to finance the replacement of inefficient natural gas or heating oil burners, boilers and furnaces with more efficient equipment through on-bill financing or other financing mechanisms available to customers of electric distribution companies or natural gas companies.

Statement of Purpose: 

To aid customers served by municipal electric utilities in replacing inefficient natural gas or heating oil burners, boilers and furnaces.
