AN ACT CONCERNING DISSECTION CHOICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2012) A local or regional school district shall excuse any student from participating in, or observing, the dissection of any animal as part of classroom instruction if such student has requested, in writing, to be excused from such participation or observation.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To allow students to be excused from participating in or observing animal dissections in the classroom.
