AN ACT CONCERNING EXPENDITURES FOR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES RELATED TO HIGHER EDUCATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2012) Not later than January 1, 2013, the Board of Regents for Higher Education, the Office of Financial and Academic Affairs for Higher Education and the Board of Trustees for The University of Connecticut shall each submit a report, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations. Said board of regents, said office and said board of trustees shall include in the report (1) an assessment of the effectiveness and benefits of the programs and services it administers or provides, and (2) an assignment of priority for the continued funding of such programs and services. In addition, said board of regents and said office shall include in the report an assessment of the effectiveness and benefits of any programs and services administered or provided by a constituent unit of the state system of higher education for which said board or said office has oversight.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose: 

To review the programs and services administered or provided by the Board of Regents for Higher Education, the Office of Financial and Academic Affairs for Higher Education, the board of trustees of The University of Connecticut and the constituent units of higher education.
