AN ACT CONCERNING PERFORMANCE-BASED FINANCIAL AID.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2012) The Office of Financial and Academic Affairs for Higher Education shall develop a plan for implementing performance-based financial aid programs which shall include periodic, rather than annual, disbursements of aid and require an assessment of a student's academic performance prior to disbursing aid to such student. Not later than January 1, 2013, the office shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, on the development of such plan to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to higher education.
